What is Hatha yoga
HA means moon and THA, sun. Therefore, hatha yoga is the yoga of the union between the sun and the moon, understanding that the sun represents the life force and the moon, the spiritual force. Therefore, this type of yoga aims to balance our energy.
To balance our energy or prana, hatha yoga USES a series of physical postures, called asanas, and is therefore sure to spread as a form of yoga. However, hatha yoga is far more than physics, it is a psychophysiological technology system. These techniques include asanas (yoga poses), bandhas (energy keys), pranayamas (breathing exercises or life energy control) and mudras (gestures). These technologies involve not only the body, but also physiological functions, namely different organs, devices and systems, as well as seeking to calm the mind and balance emotions.
The pose serves several purposes. In addition to helping to improve the functioning of the organism, they seek to purify it and allow the body to meditate both physically and mentally. The pranayama, which is used for controlling, important energy or pranayama, is intended to cleanse the body, so to speak, to a more powerful level, and to induce meditation as a whole prior to the stage. The bandhas basically maintains contractions in different parts of the body whose goal is to control internal energy. And, finally, handprints are powerful meditative gestures.
